Originally from Blackheath in the Black Country, Claire, her husband and son re-located to an old miners cottage on Titterstone Clee,Shropshire. Claire finds the Shropshire countryside and rural way of life presents her with a plethora of potential subject matter.
Whilst Claire’s paintings are representational they are not limited to a particular style and experimentation of the paint plays a major role in her art.
Claire uses a variety of found materials,making marks and interesting textures. She scratches,scrapes and flicks paint at the canvas in creation of depicting skies,foliage etc.
Claire’s work has been purchased by collectors in the U.K, France, Australia,New Zealand and Canada.
